Reading

Recommended Reading:

These are books I’ve read that have impacted my faith and thinking. I would highly recommend them all. In the future I may add more in depth reviews of the books. Maybe next year…

  •
    • Faith Undone - Roger Oakland
      • A good look at some of the emergent and post-modern religious movements.
    • Running Against The Wind - Brian Flynn
      • An eyewitness account of the dangers of the Contemplative Spirituality movement.
    • Culture Shift - Al Mohler
      • Purchased at the 2008 Shepherds Conference. read it on the way home. Very short but good read. You can find a good review of it here.
    • Pursuit of Holiness - Jerry Bridges
      • Definitely top 10 material.
    • Peacemakers - Ken Sande
    • From good to great in Gods eyes - Chip Ingram
      • This is an excellent read for growing in your faith. I will admit that after the first couple of chapters, I was thinking it was going to be hoe-hum. But it kicks it in to high gear and impact is heavy for the remaining chapters. I should also add I don’t really agree with the authors Chip recommends in the chapter on reading great books. Most of them are involved or support the contemplative movement, which I believe is a present danger to the Christian faith.
    • Knowledge of the Holy - A.W. Tozier
    • Knowing God - J.I. Packer
    • The Portable Seminary - David Horton
    • More to come
